Is my baby getting enough milk?
It is sometimes difficult to assess if baby is getting enough milk, particularly if you are breastfeeding. The following are some signs to look out for to guide you.
Regular wet and dirty nappies
Settled and sleeping in between feeds
Stretching out with an age appropriate time gap in between feeds
Growing well and tracking on centile line at Well Child and GP visits
Growing out of clothes
If bottle feeding, taking appropriate volumes
Appears content, alert, engaged and responsive when awake and waking for feeds
If you have any concerns regarding dehydration or your babys intake, please see your midwife, Plunket nurse or GP.
